My Response To The Sun's Article

The two court rulings

Two Pattaya court rulings concern Mr Howell and me: a criminal ruling in August 2025 and a civil ruling in February 2026. This page sets out each ruling, and then shows in his own words how Mr Drummond reported it.

The criminal case: 27 August 2025

On 27 August 2025 a Pattaya court found Mr Howell not guilty on the public-libel count and guilty on one count of third-party libel; he received a six-month suspended sentence and an 18,000 baht fine, and has appealed. The verdict, the fine, the suspended sentence and the appeal were reported by Mr Drummond in an article published on 28 August 2025; the two-year suspension period is recorded in the judgment, which my legal representatives can make available.

How Mr Drummond reported it

Mr Drummond's report of the verdict is datelined Pattaya, 27 August 2025 and was published on 28 August 2025 (Mr Drummond, 28 August 2025; archived copy).

In the same article Mr Drummond reported Mr Howell's own reaction: Canadian Adam Howell, 43, said he was pleased with the first result and would be appealing the guilty verdict on the second charge for which was fined 18,000 Thai baht (US$550) and given a six month suspended sentence. (Mr Drummond, 28 August 2025)

In two later articles he referred to the public-libel count.

"the Howell not guilty verdict"

Mr Drummond, 2 December 2025 (article; archived copy)

"Flowers lost the case even though he boasted on many websites that he had won"

Mr Drummond, 1 February 2026 (article; archived copy)

Both phrases refer to the public-libel count, on which Mr Howell was found not guilty; the guilty finding on the count of third-party libel is set out at the top of this section.

The civil case: 23 February 2026

On 23 February 2026 the Pattaya Provincial Court ruled in my favour in civil defamation proceedings over statements published about me in May 2024 and awarded me 50,000 baht in damages with interest; Mr Howell is appealing. The award and the appeal were reported by Mr Drummond on 23 February 2026; the other details are from the judgment, which can be made available through my legal representatives.

The civil judgment concerned defamatory allegations associating me with bribery, unlawful business operations and human trafficking. (This sentence is from my statement to The Sun.)

How Mr Drummond reported it

In his article of 23 February 2026 Mr Drummond wrote: …the court ordered Howell to pay 50,000 Thai baht damages to Flowers… In the same article he wrote: In reality Flowers lost! (article; archived copy).

The court found in my favour and awarded damages; Mr Howell is appealing.

Mr Howell after the criminal ruling

Mr Drummond himself reported on 2 December 2025 that Mr Howell had left the country. His words were:

"Instead he has curiously written to the court to seemingly complain why Howell had left the country."

Mr Drummond, 2 December 2025 (article; archived copy)

To my knowledge he now lives in Dubai (my record of his Dubai venture). I understand that three further criminal complaints for false allegations have been filed against him in Thailand; my Thai legal representatives can clarify their procedural status.

The documents

The judgments are available to journalists and legal departments through my legal representatives.
